Installing the barrier on Torkham border to be solved amicablly. The Pak Afghan Torkham border remained closed on the orders of the Afghan border officials so that their high ups could easily come to hold negotiations with their Pakistani border counterparts, an official said. The barrier would be put on to control the mob of the people on Torkham border and make sure the identity of the people coming across the Torkham border, an official of Pakistan told, adding that now it was decided in the meeting that high ups of both the countries would decide the matter of the barrier to resolve the issue. In the negotiations the Pakistani side was represented by Col Mushtaq based at Torkham , Col Gul Hasan, based in Afghan Sheraz Forte and Tehsildar Torkham Meraj Khan while the Afghan delegation was led by Afghan border officials Haji Zabeeh Ullah Shinwari, Anayat Khan and Shad Muhammad. During the closure of the Torkham border by Afghan officials the flow of the traffic and people on both sides was suspended for more than one hour. The installation of the barrier is the right of the Pakistan to avoid law and order situation and to ensure the identity of the people so that any miscreants could not come across the border, an official said, adding that it is not a conflict on the border rather it is someting routine that takes place on the borders any where in the world. Separately , the doctors of the agency headquarter hospital Landikotal wnt on strike again today on Wednesday and they held a protest march to condemn the suspension of the power supply to Landikotal hospital. The hospital pays regular bills on monthly basis but despite that there is no light that has created lots of problems for the doctors and patients at Landikotal hospital. The local people while favouring the protest of the doctors said that administration is not serious to take notice of the power supply suspension and resolve the issue as soon as possible. Later agency surgeon held successful negotiations with the protesting doctors and convinced the doctors to end their protest.However, the protesting doctors have warned that if their genuine demand was not met, they would again protest on Monday and would close the hospital in protest against the suspension of the power supply.
