'America was born on guns and whiskey!' - Alex Jones explodes on Piers Morgan's show

In a display that surely will go down as "Exhibit A" for "the angry white male" in the US, Alex Jones, the conservative talk radio host, practically popped a vein in his denunciation of Piers Morgan because of Morgan's anti-gun views. Indeed, Jones had previously launched a petition to deport the very British CNN prime-time host not because he had entered the country illegally, nor for having broken any other US law, but for no reason other than his position on gun control in America. Appearing on Morgan's gabfest on Monday night, Jones was nothing short of apoplectic in his warning of Armageddon in the form of a second American Revolution should people with Morgan's views prevail.

Jones' petition was set up last month on the White House's "We The People" website. To date, it has garnered more than 100,000 signatures. The threshold for administration review of any petition is 25,000. Jones had been invited on Morgan's show to discuss the petition.

"The Second Amendment isn't there for duck hunting," a relatively calm Jones said at the beginning of a two-part, 15-minute interview. "It's there to protect us from tyrannical government and street thugs."

But Jones was merely warming up. He then swung into a one-sided, pro-gun tirade. He, in fact, stepped -- no lept -- completely off the reservation. Whenever Morgan tried to interject a question, or statement, Jones over-talked or cut off Morgan at nearly every turn.

"I'm here to tell you," Jones yelled, ominously wagging his finger in Morgan's face, "1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms!" He did not say who “our” referred to, but more on that below.

Jones is a relatively young man at 38. Not surprisingly, he is also from Texas.

"America was born on guns and whiskey! It's true we're a violent society. You're a foreigner! You're a redcoat! You're telling us what to do!"

"You finished?" Morgan asked meekly, obviously shocked, awed, cowed by Jones' unrelenting barrage of rhetoric.

But Jones wasn't close to being done.

He accused Morgan of being an actual fugitive from justice in England, saying that he fled to the US to evade the UK phone hacking scandal. "You're a hatchet man of a New World Order," Jones said.

Then, the Rush Limbaugh wannabe had some choice words for the British Isles themselves: “England is becoming a police state. You have hordes of people burning down cities and beating old women’s brains out every day,” Jones yelled. "They arrest people in England if they defend themselves."

It is important to note that Alex Jones is not an isolated “nut case.” This is a man who has his own very popular “conservative” radio talk show, and who appears often as a guest or “expert” on other conservative venues, especially radio. His appearances on George Noory's “Coast-to-Coast AM” late night radio show are often embarrassing to those with even a modicum of common sense and fair play. Yet Noory regularly books and features him. Why?

Because Jones represents the views of millions upon millions of white, “conservative” men in this nation-state who see their “way of life,” their own and their sons' and grandsons' birthrights, threatened by the likes of Piers Morgan and Barack Obama. These are men who are offended by the very idea that anybody other than white males should have the authority to make decisions regarding their lives. On the contrary, their "historical" and innate "superiority" has convinced them that only white males should be allowed to decide life's matters and issues not just for themselves but for everyone else.

That's who Jones is. That's what he represents. He is not a “lone nut” or an escapee from an insitution. He is an institution.

These men have finally realized that they can no longer intimidate voters into maintaining white male supremacist power. Reluctantly, they've come to understand, and finally say out loud, that the tried and true methods of manipulation of voter rolls, polling places, hours, long lines, voter ID laws, poll taxes and literacy tests, are now passe'. They understand more clearly now than ever before just exactly who the real “minority” in this country is – them.

And so they do what they have always done when cornered, when outnumbered: lash out violently against anyone and everyone who gets within their gunsights. Jones is not kidding when he says, “The Second Amendment is not for duck hunting.” His weapons are primed and ready, aimed squarely at not just “the government,” but those black and brown urban “thugs” whom he and his ilk expect to come pouring out of the cities any day now to rape and pillage the lily-white suburbs and pristine white farms where all the good and decent white folks "escaped" to for safety just about two generations ago.
