The Divine Miss M is making a return visit to the Great White Way. It has been over 30 years since Midler was last on Broadway with her show “Divine Madness.”
The play “I’ll Eat You Last: A Chat with Sue Mengers” opens April 24. The John Logan-penned production is the story of Hollywood agent Sue Mengers. The on- woman show is set during a single evening.
Mengers died in 2011 at the age of 79 from pneumonia.
Logan also wrote the screenplay for the highly successfulfilm “Skyfall”.
Besides her one woman show, three time Grammy Award winning Midler has appeared on Broadway as Tevye’s eldest daughter Tzeitel in the original Broadway run of “Fiddler on the Roof.”
The Hawaiian born Midler first came to the attention of music fans in 1972 with her debut album “The Divine Miss M.” Since then she has topped music charts and starring in comedic actress roles which have earned her four Golden Globe Awards, a Tony Award and three Emmy Awards.
