VARIOUS CASES AGAINST CABARRUS FAMILY, OWNER OF IDANG’S ORIGINAL PANCIT MALABON CHAIN OF RESTAURANTS, TO BE LODGED BEFORE THE BIR, HDMF – PAG-IBIG, NLRC – DOLE, PHILHEALTH, SSS AND AT THE OFFICE OF THE CITY PROSECUTION SERVICE OF QUEZON CITY
SEVERAL cases are about to be filed against Cabarrus family, owner of Lola Idang’s Pancit Malabon and or Aling Idang’s Original Pancit Malabon chain of restaurants by an employee who had faithfully and honestly worked with the company for seven straight years as waitress and as cashier reliever because recently she was unceremoniously dismissed. Her dismissal from the service was without valid grounds, with no legal basis and without due process.
The various cases are intended to be lodged before the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF Pag – IBIG), National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) – Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Office of the City Prosecution Service of Quezon City and at the Social Security System (SSS) for repeatedly and continuously violating many times several laws such as Republic Act No. 8424 (National Internal Revenue Code of 1997), Section 23 of R.A. No. 9679 (Home Development Mutual Fund Law of 2009), Article 28 of the Labor Code of the Philippines, as amended and in relation to Article 288 of the same code, Section 44 of R.A. No.7875 (National Health Insurance Act of 1995), Corporation Code of the Philippines, Section 28 of R.A. No. 8282 (Social Security Law) and the various instances of falsification of documents related thereto.
In her varied several sworn complaint affidavits, Nadia E. Maranon has revealed the repeated and continuous violations for many occasions of several provisions of laws of Cabarrus family composed of Ana Cathrina Cabarrus, topmost supervisor and manager; George Cabarrus, overall supervisor and overall manager and Grace Katigbak – Cabarrus, owner, principal manager and president of Lola Idang’s Pancit Malabon and or Aling Idang’s Original Pancit Malabon chain of restaurants.
Maranon had been working honestly and dedicatedly for seven uninterrupted years at the Lola Idang’s Pancit Malabon and or Aling Idang’s Original Pancit Malabon chain of restaurants as waitress and as cashier reliever but was recently abruptly terminated from the service with no valid reasons, with no lawful basis and without legal process.
Maranon’s experience of abuse, exploitation and maltreatment in the hands of the Cabarrus family while employed at Lola Idang’s Pancit Malabon and or Aling Idang’s Original Pancit Malabon chain of restaurants, is reportedly exactly the same and similar situation being experienced by more than one hundred Maranon’s “fellow employees” who are assigned and scattered in the eleven branches of Lola Idang’s Pancit Malabon and or Aling Idang’s Original Pancit Malabon chain of restaurants and are afraid to disclose the irregularities in the company and admit the harsh working condition they are experiencing for fear of reprisal and the eventual loss of their jobs.
Hand in hand with the reported filing of cases of Maranon before the BIR, HDMF – Pag – IBIG, NLRC – DOLE, PhilHealth, SEC and at the SSS, Maranon would as well call the attention of the Senate of the Philippines, to conduct thorough and comprehensive investigation, in aid of legislation, of her harsh experience and also, of the very poor working condition that her fellow employees have been experiencing for quite long years already, thus the Cabarrus family’s ‘crimes’ would then be exposed, discontinued and ultimately penalized before the bar of justice.
Maranon is also set to send letters – request and copies of her sworn complaint affidavits to social activist Father Robert Reyes, National Union of Journalists of the Philippines (NUJP) chairman Nestor Burgos, Jr., Liga ng mga Brodkaster sa Pilipinas (LBP) president Rolly “Lakay” Gonzalo, Kapisanan ng mga Bropdkaster sa Pilipinas (KBP) pres. Herman Z. Basbano, National Press Club of the Philippines pres. Benny Antiporda, Alab ng Mamamahayag (ALAM) chairman Jerry S. Yap and Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) chairman Dante Jimenez to make sure that the cases that Maranon would be filing against the Cabarrus family will certainly be monitored, followed through and watched by several anti - crime and corruption groups and the general public via media and that the harsh working conditions of her fellow workers at the LOLA IDANG’S PANCIT MALABON at/ o ALING IDANG’S ORIGINAL PANCIT MALABON chain of restaurants also will now be entirely exposed.
