Egypt - Friends of the National Council for Women is a new foundation that aims at launching small to micro enterprises and literacy classes to help able women in need, Head of the National Council for Women Mervat Talawy said.

The Foundation seeks to attract activists in women's rights field.

It will offer training courses to female village leaders, who can play a pivotal role in boosting development in their respective areas, and work on raising the cultural and political awareness of those concerned with women's welfare, Talawy said.
