Native American and World Music artist Diane Arkenstone is set to release her second collection of contemporary folk songs in March. “Union Road” features Arkenstone on acoustic guitar, dulcimer, kalimba and percussion.
Speaking on the new album and writing Arkenstone said, “My greatest joy is in writing, because in creating music I feel a profound freedom.”
Arkenstone plans to follow the album release with a tour later in the spring.
One of eight children the daughter of an Opera singer, Arkenstone says that she was singing and writing music at age three. At age seven she picked up her first instrument – the guitar. While she studied Opera – she wanted to follow in her mother’s footsteps – Arkenstone is best known for her Celtic music albums with then husband.
