As a long-time foreign correspondent, though now retired, I believe Al Jazeera English is a good news source. I have discussed this at length with American correspondent friends still working in the area and they agree. Al Jazeera stationed a correspondent in Israel, and its pro-democracy reports from fellow Arab nations have gotten it into far more trouble than what it has said about Gaza and Israel. In fact, it was nearly shut down because of its pro democracy reports.
