Air-strike on petrol pump in Damascus kills dozens

An air-strike on a petrol pump in Damascus has apparently killed dozens of persons – the casualty figures vary from 30 to 70 and the exact toll is not disclosed.

This has been reported in bbc.com of dated 2nd of January 2013.

The incident has occurred in the Mleiha district and people have mentioned about seeing burnt and charred bodies lying strewn all around the area.

Mleiha is not considered to be a stronghold of the opposition and most of the dead are believed to be civilian women and children.

As per information from locals, warplanes of Syria attacked the petrol station when a consignment of fuel had arrived for storage.
