It was a sad end to the tour plan when a chartered tourist bus plunged 1100-feet through a guardrail and down a steep embankment in La Grande, Oregon.
At least 9 people have been killed in the accident and more than 20 others have been injured.
This has been reported in foxnews.com of dated 30th of December 2012.
It seems the chartered bus was carrying about 40 people and apparently lost control on the snow- and ice-covered lanes of Interstate 84.
The crash happened in a rural area of eastern Oregon, near the start of a 7-mile section of road that winds down a hill.
The location is at the west end of the Blue Mountains, and west of an area called Deadman Pass - the area is accident prone and the state transportation department always issues warnings to drivers to be careful of the dangerous road conditions due to the weather conditions in the Northwest which could result in slick conditions and poor visibility.
