My grandparents use to say that the world was so simple back then. I can imagine what they mean. My grandparents lived through the early 1940's and so they can actually compare how life was back then and now. One of the things they've observed is how quickly information travels from one place to another. Back then, people rely on newspapers, the telegram and phone calls in order to get the latest information as to what is happening all over the world. When the late 20th century came, the television was finally invented and everyone now has better access to information.
Just how does the media influence change in our society? You have to understand though that when we talk about "media", we are also talking about the radio and newspapers, although people are getting used to thinking that television is a major part of media. In any case, whenever a news report talks about something that affects the community as a whole, changes are most likely to happen. For example, videos portraying the horrors of World War 2 have made everyone realize the horrors of war. Everyone who has seen a historical portrayal or movie of during the World War 2 era is sure to realize the importance of peace and equality amongst all. That's just one of the many things that the media can instill towards people allover the world.
The same can also be said about business and the economy. News regarding the Stock Exchange and the current position of the country's economy can affect how businessmen are going to spend their money on their current investment or business. The same can also be said with consumers, as they'll probably be on their guard with their spending money. Through the years, different forms of media have also been used by the business sector as a means of coercing people to buy a product or to get a service shown on the media. This is media advertising at its finest. For several years, media advertising has also evolved until the 21st century arrived, bringing the Internet with it.
Some countries have even used the power of the media in order to change governments. People have witnessed
The Internet brought even more advancement when it comes to media and media advertising, since information is now free and can be received or sent within the speed of light. The computer, which was once a bulky, towering machine evolved into a sleek machine, since every major office, business and even homes need it nowadays. So as you can see, that is exactly how the media have evolved and influenced humanity through the years.
Oh, and you can also bet that it will keep on evolving as the years follow. What it will change this time, nobody actually knows. We all just have to keep our eyes peered for what's going to happen next.
