Five Italian tourists have been kidnapped in Egypt, the Italian foreign ministry says.

The ministry was quoted by Reuters saying they were among a group of foreigners seized.

The news agency cited Egyptian security sources saying between 10 and 15 people were held in total - possibly including two Israelis.

However there was no confirmation of this report
