Famed Mexican singer Jenni Rivera passed away in a tragic air crash yesterday and now investigation is going on regarding what caused the plane to crash.
The world of music suffered a great loss yesterday as famed Mexican singer Jenni Rivera passed away in a tragic plane crash. Since the crash was reported, reports have been pouring in regarding what could have gone wrong, but so far no conclusive evidence has been obtained.
The plane in which Rivera was travelling was reported missing early Sunday morning after it lost contact with air traffic controllers in Mexico. The plane took off from Monterrey early on Sunday morning and it was destined to reach its destination the very same day.
According to the details provided, Rivera's plane, which was carrying a total of six people, lost contact with controllers about 60 miles after it took off. The passengers on the plane included two pilots, Jenni Rivera, her publicist, Arturo Rivera, her stylist, Jorge Sanchez, her makeup artist, Jacobo Llenares and her attorney, Mario Macias.
Initially, there were no reports of a plane crash and everyone was just concerned where Rivera was. Speculations regarding her plane crashing had started to surface when reports of a downed plane hit the news. Mexican officials claimed that the wreckage of a small plane were found with no apparent survivors and it was believed that the plane carried the singer. Transportation and Communication Minister Gerardo Ruiz Esparza told Mexican television that "everything points toward it being the plane" that carried Rivera and six others. Later, evidence confirming that the doomed plane indeed carried Rivera was also found. Forensic experts found Rivera's Miami driving license and one of the pilots' Mexican passport in the wreckage.
According to reports, Jenni Rivera was in Monterrey for a concert appearance. She posted a picture on her Twitter account on Friday, showing her holding a sign that read, “See you this 7th in Colima, 8 in Monterrey” in Spanish. After her concert on Saturday, Rivera even held a press concert, in which she announced that she would be filing for divorce from her husband, former Major League Baseball pitcher Esteban Loaiza.
Since the news of Jenni Rivera's plane crash surfaced, people from all over the world have been sending in their condolences to Rivera's family and those of the plane crash victims.
