Why. He took on two sacred cows. Gun rights, as laid down by our flintlock forefathers, and sports, as laid down by TV. Is this India?

Thanks for the report harry68.

Taking on the National Rifle Association and all the gun lobbyists is truly courageous whatever venue that might include.

I don't know if gun legislation would have prevented Belcher from obtaining a gun, but the tragic incident is reason to have a national conversation.

Bob Costas should stick to interviewing professional wrestling promoter Vincent Kennedy McMahon instead of telling about gun control.

Does Costas's arguement truly hold water?A man just killed his father with a knife and a bow and arrow in Wyoming, after he killed his father's girlfriend with a knife earlier. After he murdered,he then turned the knife on himself, commiting suicide.Don't blame society for having guns. Blame society for killing each other, drug usage and illegal drug sales. Blame society for not respecting human life(abortion),and or "me first" attitude.Blame it for not teaching our children respect for human life(violent video games).Bullying, drug deals gone bad,and total disrespect for all life, and human life are to blame for the breakdown of society. Not guns.

Very true waitingintheshadows, although I fear having guns in the house with kids, it comes down to people kill people and will do it with anything that can be used as a weapon. Should we stop changing tires because some idiot used it as a weapon instead of its purpose. It all comes down to the human factor.

The election both helped gun and ammo sales. The same election four years ago helped boost gun sales and gunmaker stock sales on Wall Street.Right now ammo is selling like hotcakes.Liberty is at risk when libs are elected. I fear for my safety from the riff raff on the streets than from owning a firearm. If I was that afraid of objects that could kill,I'd sell my truck,my car,my lawnmower, kitchen knives, and give away my firewood and hide my rocks. Now,you tell me,if any of these things got into the hands of a psycopath, what mayhem it could cause!Don't forget to turn in your shovels and rakes, and if you own a chainsaw,or ball bats, these could be taken away by a bad man and used on you!
