This is scary. The list of anti-gay groups/businesses is growing. The people/companies/organizations need to know people will turn from them if this becomes known.

Robert, thank you for reading and commenting. Maybe the groups aren't growing, but information about them is being dispersed quickly due to social media.

I'm all for inclusivity, so I relate to the concern expressed here. I also know that the Salvation Army is on the front lines in assisting the population who lack homes. If people boycott donating to Salvation Army, I I highly encourage them to give an equivalent amount to a different group or agency that is doing that emergency work with the poorest among us.

Hi Billie, I wrote the report for informational purposes. There are those who will still give to the Salvation Army and those who won't based upon their strong personal convictions. As you said, the S.A. is on the front lines assisting the homeless. I would guess they rank up there with the Catholic church in offering direct aid and services to people.

In Chicago, the S.A. has a homeless shelter, the Evangeline Booth Lodge, one of the best in the city. It was once a motel, and it offers families privacy and dignity, whereas most Chicago shelters have huge rooms full of bunk beds.

William and Catherine Booth are my heroes. I cannot imagine them being discriminatory. If you read about their past you'll see as you said they reached out to the drunkards and prostitutes. One of the main things Catherine preached about (a pioneer woman preacher) is that she disliked the pompous rich who walked around ignoring the poor and needy. If the Salvation Army discriminates, I guarantee you it must have come WAY later as William and Catherine were open armed to all! =) Thanks for a great, well-detailed report.

Stephanie, thank you for reading and commenting on my report. William and Catherine Booth are heroes to many. William Booth started the Salvation Army, because the traditional church wasn't willing to accept the converted alcoholics and prostitutes because of their former misdeeds. He reached out to everyone, and the Salvation Army continues to help many.

The Salvation Army is doing God's will. If some do not like them do business somewhere else.
