Meryl Streep and Hillary Clinton bond at 2012 Kennedy Center honorees dinner!

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton hosted a dinner for Kennedy Center honorees at the U.S. Department of State on December 1, 2012 in Washington, DC, inviting honorees, actors, politicians and pillars of society.

This years 2012 Kennedy Center Honors recipients are Blues musician Buddy Guy, actor and director Dustin Hoffman, talkshow host and comedian David Letterman, ballerina Natalia Makarova as well as musicians John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page, and Robert Plant of rock band Led Zeppelin, for their lifetime contributions to American culture through the performing arts.

Attending the dinner were actor Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria, violinist Itzhak Perlman and his wife Toby, cellist Yo-Yo Ma and Jill Hornor, Kyle MacLachlan, Montego Glover, Jimmy Kimmel and Molly McNearney, Aretha Franklin and Richard Gibbs, Foo Fighters guitarist Dave Grohl and wife Jordyn, Nancy Pelosi and husband Paul, actor Ray Romano and wife Anna, musician Kid Rock and mother Susan Ritchie, talkshow host Stephen Colbert with wife Evelyn Mcgee-Colbert, Caroline Kennedy and Edwin A. Schlossberg.

One of the cutest moments at the dinner was actress Meryl Streep taking a photo of herself with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton via her cell phone.

Cannot help but see Streep playing her in an Academy Award-worthy performance, just as she had finessed the role of Maggie Thatcher!
