Waveland Mississippi. Waveland police investigator Eddie Peterson tells the Sun Coast Echo newspaper the police are chasing leads to capture a thief who stole 340 cases of Little Debbie snack cakes from a Waveland storehouse last week.

Peterson said some of the stolen cases have been recovered in the town of Seminary Mississippi which is 70 miles north of Waveland. Waveland police chief Kenny Hurt said the owner of the storage unit from which the Little Debbie snack cakes were stolen was a food vendor but he did identify who it is.

Hurt said he does not know if the storehouse where the Little Debbie snack cakes were stolen was broken into or it was accidently open for the thief to steal the snack cakes.

Peterson said investigators believe some people from whom the Little Debbie snack cakes were stolen did not know where they came from.
