Seven naked AIDS activists have stormed House Speaker John Boehner's office at the Capitol Hill in Washington on Tuesday morning, November 27 to protest against budget cuts on AIDS programs scheduled for January 2013 according to authorities, reports The Huffington Post.
Th activists who belong to the AIDS organization 'ACT UP' - included four men and three women- invaded John Boehner's office, who was not present, took off their clothes and began chanting"Boehner, Boehner, don't be a d---, budget cuts will make us sick," reports Newser.
The naked protesters painted slogans on their bodies such as “AIDS Cuts Kill” and “Fund PEPFAR, Fund Ryan White, Fund Global Fund, Fund Medicaid, Fund HOPWA,” according to advocate.
Three of the naked protesters were arrested by Capitol Police and charged with lewd and indecent acts, a misdemeanor according to a statement released by The U.S. Capitol Police.
"People with AIDS are sick and tired of being pushed over the cliff," "We need to make sure they stop going after people with AIDS." said Jennifer Flynn, 40, one of those arrested.
She added "people with AIDS have been stripped naked for years - Medicaid has been cut, states are [struggling] … there are waiting lists in this country where people with AIDS are dying."
