On November 19 the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences presented the fortieth annual International Emmy Awards at the Hilton in New York City. The gala event was hosted by Regis Philbin.

the International Emmy Founders Award went to Ryan Murphy – the creator of “Glee”
the International Emmy Directorate Award went to Dr. Kim In-Kyu – President and CEO of the Korean Broadcasting System and Presidenet of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union
The International Academy Special Founders Award went to Alan Alda and Norman Lear
