Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Jim Salisbury of CSNPhilly.com reports the Los Angeles Angels are interested in signing relief pitcherwho is a free agent.
The Phillies and Madson had a verbal agreement on a four year contract worth $4.4 million before the deal collapsed. Madson and the Phillies management blamed each other for the failed contract signing.
Madson signed a one year contract with the Cincinnati Reds worth $8.5 million due to an arm injury on his pitching arm that required Tommy John surgery he did not pitch in any games in the 2012 Major League Baseball season.
The question mark that the Angels management is facing is that Madson will not be ready to pitch at the start of the 2013 Major League Baseball season and the salary Madson would want would be in the $5 million dollar range plus Madson would be prefer to pitch in the bullpen or be the closers role.
The ball is the Los Angeles Angels court with this free agent that is available for any team that is willing to take a chance on him.
