The Massive pileup, which occured around 8:45 a.m (local time) caused by visibility issues due to fog on Interstate 10 highway between Taylor Bayou and Hampshire Road n Jefferson County.

The two victims are a married couple named Debra Leggio, 60 and her husband Vincent Leggio, 64, according to officials the couple killed after their SUV was struck by an 18-wheeler tanker truck.

"The cause of the accident was a heavy fog bank rolled into this area this morning, which caused nobody to be able to see and caused one accident that triggered another accident and then a chain reaction," Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Deputy Rod Carroll told AP.

A witness named Carroll,46, described the accident as some strange dream "It was extremely foggy. You couldn’t see 10 feet around you in any direction. It was like some strange dream.” Carroll told the Los Angeles Times.
