Fc Bayern - Borussia Dortmund Choreo

Matchday 12 gets underway Saturday with seven games on tap; the remaining two games will be played on Sunday. Friday's game has been pushed to Saturday, due the international friendly against the Netherlands this past Wednesday.

FC Bayern, Schalke 04 and Eintracht Frankfurt continue to lead the league, with Bayern leading the top three by a margin of seven points. Schalke 04 leads Frankfurt by three points and Dortmund by four points.

This week's top match is the contest between fifth-place Bayer Leverkusen and second-place Schalke 04. Schalke has won seven of their first 11 matches, while conceding only two. Leverkusen has won three and conceded three. With just a one game margin over Frankfurt, a Schalke win is essential. Of course, Leverkusen will also want to hold on to its one point lead over Hanover.

Borussia Dortmund, currently in fourth spot meets 17th-place Greuther Fuerth. Fuerth has only one win to its credit, while Dortmund has five. Edging a win in Dortmund will be an extremely difficult task for the Franken.

FC Bayern will travel north to its neighbour Nuernberg. Having dropped only one match thus far this season. Bayern will want to expand its lead in Nuernberg. The local derby has often turned out to be a close contest. This could be the case on Saturday.

The remaining three matches on Saturday see Stuttgart traveling to Glabach, Freiburg to Hanover and Hamburg hosts Mainz.

In Sunday's line up Bremen hosts Duesseldorf, while Hoffenheim hosts Wolfsburg. Only six points separate sixth place Hanover from 16th place Wolfsburg. The field is still wide open for most teams of the league. Greuther Fuerth and Augsburg need to pick up a few points, if they are to remain in the league next year.

As is customary, there will again be some surprises. One of them may come in Nuernberg.
