Baton Rouge Louisiana. East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Casey Rayborn Hicks said in a news release Shannan Ferguson Taylor, 29, died in a auto accident that happened about 7:50am on Tuesday.
The tragic auto accident on the intersection of Inniswold Road and Jefferson Highway. Taylor was partially ejected from her automobile and when she landed on the ground her automobile ran over her. Taylor was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident.
Hicks said the accident happened when Taylor was a stop sign at the intersection of Inniswold Road and Jefferson Highway. Taylor then was traveling on Inniswold Road when her automobile collided with a van traveling southeast on Jefferson Highway. Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The driver of the van was not seriously injured.
Deputies with the sheriff's office are waiting the results of the toxicology reports to determine if drugs or alcohol played a role in the death of Taylor.
The reason that drivers are required to wear seatbelts nationwide is to prevent tragic accidents like this to happen.
