Somalia: Parliamentarians give vote of confidence to the cabinet

Mogadishu: Tuesday, 13 November 2012:-Members of the Somali federal parliament have today on Tuesday given vote of confidence to the newly installed executive council by the prime minister of the Somali federal government, Abdi Farah Shirdon, reports said.

President of the Somali federal government, Hassan Sheikh Mohamed and his premier, Abdi Farah Shirdon together with the newly named ministers attended the parliamentary session today asking members of the Somali federal parliament to ratify the cabinet.

225 members of the Somali lawmakers came at the house today as speaker of the Somali federal parliament, Hon. Mohamed Osman Jawari said and they took vote of confidence at the same time and 219 of lawmakers voted yes to the cabinet, 3 were silent while three others rejected.

Prime minister of the Somali federal government, H.E. Abdi Farah Shirdon who spoke at the lawmakers’ house today after his executive council passed promised that his government would strengthen the security and the rebuilding of the country.

This was the most difficult challenge that the new cabinet passed successfully, but they are expected to do more and serve in the interest of the country and people.

It was early this month when the Somali prime ministers, Shirdon named his ministers comprising of ten including two females given higher passions since Somali took independence in 1960.
