As ad:tech New York packed up its winter coats and headed into hibernation until next year, so too did the annual ad:tech schedule. With the closing bell of the sensational “Playing to Win in 2013” keynote last Thursday afternoon, an entire year of ad:tech conferences all around the globe, from San Francisco to Sydney with eight more points in between, closed out 2012 and began preparing for the 2013 cycle.
For many State-side attendees and exhibitors, ad:tech comes twice a year: First in the spring in San Francisco and then again in fall in New York. But before we get to the upcoming ad:tech San Francisco 2013 conference April 9, 10, let’s take a look at the three international events kicking off the year off in earnest, beginning with the first of two events in India.
Back in New Delhi for the third time, 2013’s first ad:tech conference boasts an exciting list of keynote speakers. Shiv Singh, Global Head of Digital for PepsiCo, brings a highly distinguished and decorated history as a social and digital media maven. Singh is an avid and successful writer on many topics in his field, and even penned the book “Social Media Marketing for Dummies.”
Gian M. Fulgoni, founder of comScore, Pete Blackshaw, Global Head of Marketing and Social Media at Nestle, and Arvind Raja of LinkedIn fill out just a few more spots of the impressive cadre of speakers already announced. With over 3000 attendees and exhibitors at last year’s conference, 2013’s New Delhi engagement looks to start the year off with a bang. The call for speakers is open until Nov. 16.
Going seven years strong, ad:tech Sydney “returns to its roots” by heading back to the site of the first Sydney event in 2007, The Hilton Sydney. Like the New Delhi event before it, the Sydney has extended its deadline for speaker submissions until Nov.16. Unlike that event, the Sydney conference has not announced any of its keynote speakers just yet. But there’s still plenty to buzz about.
The biggest innovations this year are the seven new, dedicated conferences under the ad:tech banner. The Sydney site defines them as “seven new, separately bookable, dedicated conferences under the ad:tech umbrella that better reflect today's industry. Head to the ad:tech Sydney home page to check out those seven “mini-conferences” and everything else about the upcoming event!
Last year’s Melbourne ad:tech at the Hilton on the Park was just the city’s second ever. This year’s event has yet to be announced, but the message on the website promises that planning has begun and “there are some exciting changes on the horizon.” Check the site for updates and look for the event to land sometime between the Sydney and San Francisco conferences, as it did last year.
Along with the rebirth and return of spring to the frigid Bay area, ad:tech lands home in April. Of the few details out currently available the conference are the continuations of the wildly successful Startup Spotlight and Marketing Masters programs. What else will SF13 have in store? The call for speakers will begin before the end of the year.
