Bayern Muenchen vs Eintracht Frankfurt 10 Nov 2012

With six games in the books for Matchday 11, FC Bayern Muenchen continues to dominate the league. Bayern defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0. Goals by Frank Ribery in the 40th and a successful penalty kick in the 77th minute by David Alaba secured the 10th win in 11 starts for the record champion. Bayern continues to lead the league with 7 points above the field.

Both Schalke 04 and Borussia Dortmund won their matches, with Schalke edging out Bremen 2-1, while Dortmund dominated FC Augsburg with a 3-1 victory. SC Freiburg and Hamburger SV played to a scoreless draw, while Fortuna Duesseldorf and Hoffeneheim parted with a 1-1 draw.

While the top three clubs in the league remain unchanged, Borussia Dortmund has moved temporarily into fourth spot, just one point behind Frankfurt but 11 points behind Bayern Munchen.

The bottom three relegation spots are not likely to see much change, with both Wolfsburg and Greuther Fuerth playing tomorrow.

Mainz 05 vs 1. FC Nuernberg 2-1

In an intense Friday evening match, Mainz 05 got the upper hand on the Franken from Nuernberg, edging them 2-1, in a fast-paced and thrilling match. Mainz took an early 2-0 lead, with goals in the 12th and 21st minute by Mueller and Ivanschitz. Nuernberg narrowed the score to 2-1 with a goal by Nillsen in the 40th minute. Neither side managed to score in the second half, although Nuernberg had a much better performance, with numerous opportunities.

FC Bayern Muenchen vs Eintracht Frankfurt

After last week's loss in the Allianz Arena all eyes were on Frankfurt to see if there could be another upset for the Bavarians. Bayern dominated from the start, but Frankfurt was not easily defeated. It took until the 40th minute before Bayern got the go ahead goal by Frank Ribery. Anxious Bayern fans were hoping for another goal, but it took a penalty kick by David Alaba in the 77th minute to secure the win for Bayern. Despite their loss, Frankfurt put in a stellar performance and proved that their third spot in the league didn't happen by chance.

Schalke 04 vs Werder Bremen 2-1

The Knappen prevailed in Gelsenkirchen and secured their spot in third place, but seven points behind FC Bayern. Aaron Hunt got the go ahead goal for Bremen in the 16th minute. Werder took the 1-0 lead into halftime. It took 15 minutes in the second half before Neustaedter got the equalizer in the 60th minute. Nine minutes later the American Jermaine Jones got the assist as he passed the ball to Julian Draxler, who delivered it into the target for a 2-1 Schalke victory.

SC Freiburg vs Hamburger SV 0-0

This was a match riddled with yellow cards and a red yellow for Hamburg's Paul Scharner in the 35th minute. Despite home pitch and the man advantage, Freiburg had difficulty penetrating the Hamburg defence. The best chance for Freiburg came near the end of the game, when Jan Rosental hit the goal post.

FC Augsburg vs Borussia Dortmund 1-3

FC Augsburg was definitely the underdog in this match, with just one win in 10 starts to their credit. Dortmund's Marco Reus scored the first goal in the ninth minute and carried that lead into halftime. Robert Lewandowski got a double pack with goals in the 51st and 70th minute, upping Dortmund's lead to 3-0. Sasha Moelders got the consulation goal for Augsburt in the 82nd minute, for a 3-1 final score in favour of Dortmund. The win keeps Dortmund competitive, although trailing Bayern by 11 points.

Fortuna Duesseldorf vs 1899 Hoffenheim 1-1

Duesseldorf and Hoffenheim parted with a 1-1 draw. Both teams are barely out of the relegation zone, but the rest of the field is not that far ahead with seventh place Hanover 96 with only 7 points. Hoffenheim and Duesseldor have 12 and 11 respectively. Duessledorf's Kruse got the early lead in the fourth minute. Hanover equalized in 39th, with Joselu's goal. During the second half Hoffenheim's Compper was given a red/yellow card in the 51st minute, putting Hoffenheim at a manpower disadvantage. Despite being shorthanded for most of the second half, Hoffenheim was able to defend successfully and leaving with one point.

VFL Wolfsburg vs Leverkusen 3-1

The odds in this match were definitely in favour of Leverkusen, based on Wolfsburg performance thus far after ten matchdays. Obviously Wolfsburg came out prepared for battle. Wolfsburg dominated large segments of the game. Diego was one of the primary reasons for the Wolfsburg win. He scored two goals and assisted in Wolfsburg third goal. The first Diego goal came from a well placed penalty kick in the third minute, which left Leverkusen keeper Michael Rensing almost surprised, as he watched the ball zip by him into the net. Diego found the target again in the 16th minute, while Dost rounded out the first half scoring in the 33rd minute, for a 3-0 halftime lead. Kiessling got the consellation goal for Leverkusen.

VFB Stuttgart vs Hanover 96 2-4

VFB Stuttgart had home advantage for this match. Based on their recent successes, it did indeed looks as if the Schwaben could be successful again. Genther opened the scoring for Stuttgart in the 21st minute and Ibisevic gave Stuttgart a 2-0 lead after a penalty kick. That should have secured a win for the Schwaben. Hanover had different idea. Hanover secured a 4-2 win with four unanswered goals in the scecond half. Sobiech scored at the 57 minute mark, and Schlaudraff converted a penalty kick in the 65th minute. With the score even, Hanvover was not finished. At the 68 minute mare Abdellance go the go ahead goal and the final clincher came off Abdellance with a penalty kick.

Greuther Fuerth vs Borussia MoenchenGladbach 2-4

Greuther Fuerth took a 2-1 lead in the first half with goals by Nehrig and Prib in the 10th and 43rd minute. The only Gladbach goal in the first half was scored by Wendt in the 22nd minute. The second half was all Gladbach with goals in the 51st, 57th and 90th minute. Stranzl, Hermann and Marx were the goal getters for Gladbach. The loss complicates thing for Fuerth. The team remains in 17th spot, four points behind the field and only one point ahead of FC Augsburg.
