The Voice: Playoff Round Continues

On night two of a three night event, “The Voice” continued with the playoff round and performances from team Cee Lo and team Christina. Host Carson Daly reveled that after Monday night’s performances all 10 of the singers charted on iTunes.

The night’s singing started off with a group performance of “Sing” from team Cee Lo and team Christina.

First up was Adriana Louise from team Christina with the Katy Perry song “Firework”. Cee Lo called it a wonderful perforance and worthy competition. Adam said Adriana was great and did an incredible job. Blake said that he never had a waitress like Adriana; adding it was a big deal every time she performed. After noting that it was a hard song and she wasn’t sure that she would be up for the challenge, Christina called the performance amazing and Adriana a star.

Next up was the man who believes that he was an elderly black lady in a past life, Cody Belew from Team Cee Lo took on pop legend George Michael with “One More Try”. Adam called it a genius song choice and Cody did a brilliant job. Blake noted that team Cee Lo is full of threats and called it Cody’s best performance yet. Blake said that Miranda was one of Cody’s fans. Christina said that Cody made it his own and she loved it. Cee Lo said that Cody blew him away and perfected the performance.

De’borah from team Christina performed “Who Knew” by Pink. Cee Lo called De’borah compelling; adding that he loved the way she moved. Adam said De”borah was so good and had an incredible soul. Blake called De’borah’s singing unbelievable. Christina called De’borah real with passion and heart; adding she was the real deal and had command of the stage.

Peruvian singer Diego Val from team Cee Lo performed the Enrique Iglesias hit “Bailamos”. Adam said Diego did a good job and the song had it’s moments. Blake noted that Diego had a coolness about him. Christina agreed with Adam. Noting that he wanted to give Diego a chance to sing in his native tongue, Cee Lo called the performance solid but not his best.

Team Cee Lo’s MacKenzie Bourgh performed the One Direction song “What Makes You Beautiful” Adam called the performance great; adding that he thought MacKenzie was a fifties Buddy Holley throwback and an American Idol. Blake noted that MacKenzie snuck up on him; adding he was one of the more popular singers in the competition. Christina called MacKenzie a charmer whom she wanted to see step out of the box. Cee Lo said that while MacKenzie did a great job but wanted to see more energy and interaction.

Devyn DeLoera from team Christina performed “Bleeding Love” by Leona Lewis. Cee Lo said that she did a great job and was a wonderful vocalist but it wasn’t her best performance. Blake said that he was looking forward to a softer performance from Devyn. Christina noted that Devyn shined and was a total powerhouse; adding that she did an amazing job.

Nicholas David from team Cee Lo performed the Barry White hit “My First, My Last, My Everything”. After noting that Barry White sand baby making music, Adam called the performance incredible and that he wanted to make a baby. Blake said that Nicholas blew his mind sounding like he did. Cee Losaid that Nicholas could do no wrong and he deserved to go all the way.

Team Christina’s Sylvia Yacoub sang and played the piano on “The One that Got Away”. Cee Lo loved her musicianship, and called it his favourite performance of the night. Adam said that Sylvia did a great job, made a great choice, and deserved to move forward. Christina said that Sylvia connected to her on an emotional level; adding that she was a true artist.

Dez Duron from team Christina performed “Wanted”. Adam noted that the girls really loved him; adding that he had a great voice and was a great singer. Blake was impressed. After giving Dez a personal standing ovation, Christina said Dez was spot on, nailed it, and was the full package.

The final performance of the night was from 18 year old Trevin Hunte who performed the Michael Bolton and Laura Branigan hit “How am I Supposed to Live Without You”. Blake said that Trevin moved him every time Trevin stepped on the stage; adding that Trevin had style and everything it takes to win. Christina seconded Blakes remarks; adding that there was something captivating about Trevin. Cee Lo said that Trevin did a wonderful job, was accomplished, and Trevin could win.

On Thursday’s results show Maroon 5 and season two Jermaine Paul perform and the results of the fan votes will be revealed.
