
Syrian rebels killed 28 unarmed government soldiers on Thursday, about half of them in attacks on military checkpoints near the town of Saraqeb in northwest Syria just hours after a wave of bombings hit the Damascus area, according to the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
This massacre came after days of intense air bombardment of rebel positions around the country that killed hundreds more, a video of Thursday's attack posted on YouTub showe Syrian rebels beating and kicking government soldiers and some of the dead were shot after they had surrendered, There was no comment from the Syrian government. U.N. representatives and human rights organizations have accused rebel fighters of committing war crimes
One of the captured men says: "I swear I didn't shoot anyone" to which a rebel responds: "Shut up you animal ... Gather them for me." Then the men are shot dead. according to Reuters
