Designer Kevan Hall was chosen to present his latest designs in a fashion show on the runway at the Lupus LA 10th Anniversary Hollywood Bag Ladies Luncheon, held at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel on November 1, 2012 in Beverly Hills, California.
Hall presented several red carpet worthy designs, mostly stunning gowns and lovely cocktail dresses, in contemporary colors that are very much on trend such as peach, apricot, coral, periwinkle, deep tourmaline green, as well as a whole range of neutrals to include ivory, grey, taupe and black.
To that broad color palette, Kevan Hall adds metallics such as gold and silver and even a flirtatious leopard print that was featured in a gown, cocktail dress and a blouse!
The story goes that Detroit-born Kevan Hall knew by the age of seven that he wanted to be a fashion designer. While studying in California, he made a trip to Europe where he visited the fashion houses of Dior, Cardin and Givenchy which greatly encouraged him to pursue his passion for fashion.
Then in November of 2005, the then governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, asked Hall to the “Made in California Expo” in Beijing, China, where he dressed California’s First Lady, Maria Shriver, as well as presented several of his own designs.
Since then, Kevan Hall has dressed another First Lady, Michelle Obama, in 2010, in a a burgundy and bronze colored polka dot tie-front shirtdress, which she picked from several other options by the designer.
Speaking of his 2012 collection, Hall says he’s always loves vintage, and this year’s designs are inspired by the 1930’s and 1940’s.
If you’re looking for a stunning lace cocktail dress, Hall has you covered with a variety of flirty lace numbers in black as well as a taupe lace dress with a ribbon bow at the waist!
Attending the Keval Hall fashion show for Lupus LA were actress Sharon Stone (looking elegant in a fur-trimmed grey dress and hat!) and sister Kelly Stone, actress LisaRaye McCoy and singer Toni Braxton. Enjoy the slideshow…
