Freedom of the press taken away from Greece

Austerity? What Austerity?

First, they had their sovereignty taken away with the bailouts. Next, they had their jobs taken away because of austerity. Now, the freedom of the press has been taken away from Greece.

Over the past week, Greek authorities have been arresting journalists within the country that have been reporting truthfully about the bailouts. The latest arrest of Spiros Karatzeferis is the icing on the cake.

Karatzeferis threatened to expose the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the European Union (EU) on Greek national TV. He claimed that he obtained information from the hacker group Anonymous stating that the Greek bailout was a fraud.

Instead of releasing the information, he was going around boasting that he had the information. The authorities arrested Karatzeferis before he was able to let the cat out of the bag.

The moral of this arrest is that whenever you have a bombshell revelation, then you choose to keep your mouth shut until the right moment.
