
Chelsea bounce back to beat Manchester United in their second match at Stamford Bridge in four days but this time at the critical quarter-finals of the Capital One Cup. United has a chance to wrap up the game leading 3-2 but Scott Wootton carelessly shoves down Ramires in the box for a yellow card with 90+3 minute remaining.
Eden Hazard, stepped up and buried the penalty shot for 3-3 equalizer to force extra time. Since then Chelsea turned the table against United with two straight goals en route to a 5-4 Chelsea win.
United scored first in the 22nd minute after some mental block from Chelsea goalkeeper or from his defensive midfielder. Somehow Petr Cech misread his feed to Oriol Romeu who lost control of the ball as Anderson hustled the ball from Romeu that set up Ryan Giggs for a nice finish, giving United a 1-0 lead.
The Blues got back for quick 1-1 equalizer with penalty kick of David Luiz from yellow card by Alexander Buttner when took down Victor Moses in the penalty area.
Chelsea committed an error by Luiz when went on into midfield with the ball, but lost it to Anderson, then Javier Hernandez or Chicharito finished off with 2-1 halftime lead for United.
Chelsea work early in the second half forcing 2-2 tie on 52 minutes by Juan Mata corner finds Gary Cahill for a header goal. Nani put the United back into the lead in the 59th minute with a fantastic finish with helped by Anderson.
