On October 29, the AIM Independent Music Awards returned to celebrate the best of independent music and their record labels. This year the IMAs moved to The Brewery in East London to accommodate a larger crowd of fans. The event was once again hosted by Huw Stephens and Steve Lamacq – better known as Ant and Dec.

Hardest Working Act of the Year: 65daysofstatic
Best “Difficult” second Album: “The Lion’s Roar” by First Aid Kit
Independend Album of the Year: “A Flash Flood of colour” by Enter Shikari
Best Small Label of the Year: Black Butter Records
Genre Spotlight Award: “Evolve or Be Extinct” by Wiley
Independent Entrepreneur of the Year: Simon Raymonde of Bella Union
PPL Award for the Most Played Independent Act: Adele
Special Catalogue Release of the Year: “Music of the Spheres” by The 13th Floor Elevators
Independent Label of the Year: 4AD
Indie Champion Award: Ian Evans of IME Music
Golden Welly Award: Leefest
Outstanding Contribution to Music: Edwyn Collins
Pioneer Award: Daniel Miller of Mute
