Skooter reporting 10/26/12
A Seattle lawyer accused of raping massage therapists and whose bail was lowered from $3 million to $1 million at a hearing Thursday in King County Superior Court.
Simultaneously, a fifth victim has been added to the charges against attorney Danford Grant, the King County Prosecutor's Office said. Grant will have to put up collateral if he is released on bail, the judge at Thursday’s hearing said. Before his release, another hearing must be held to set restrictions and monitoring requirements.
Since July, Grant was initially accused of five assaults against four women. The prosecutor said, a fifth victim has now been added who purportedly was assaulted by Grant over the summer.
On Oct 10, Grant pleaded not guilty to the original charges. The 47-year-old is a partner in a Seattle law firm and previously worked in the Seattle city attorney's office.
