World Series Game 1 between Detroit Tigers vs San Francisco Giants are all set tonight 8:07pm ET at the AT&T Park. Check this page for Tigers vs Giants live score updates and highlights below.

[Game 1 Recap: Pablo Sandoval's 3 HRs powers Giants 8-3 victory over Tigers in World Series Game 1]

The AL Championship Series winner Detroit Tigers have to wait six days off after sweeping the New York Yankees in the AL Championship series. Jim Leyland and the Detroit Tigers found out the hard way that rest means rust in the World Series.

The Tigers had to play intrasquad games while waiting for their National League opponent to keep their conditioning in check and avoid any rust on their play.

Justin Verlander will start Game 1 on Wednesday night against Barry Zito and the NL Championship Series champ San Francisco Giants, fresh off a dramatic comeback in Game 7 win Monday night over the Cardinals.

But it doesn't matter if you have an MVP Justin Verlander and Triple crown winner Miguel Cabrera in the lineup. As long as ace Justin Verlander can win the team two starts in the World Series with his pitching and if Cabrera's bat remains hot, the Tigers are favored to win.

Meanwhile the San Francisco Giants has been a wild ride this October winning six elimination games, first overcoming an 2-0 deficit to beat Cincinnati in the best-of-five division series, then escaping a 3-1 hole to beat the defending champion Cardinals in the NLCS.

Giants Matt Cain, Ryan Volgelsong and Barry Zito bailed out the team in the searies as well as Marco Scutaro who has .500 hitting average was named NL Championship series Most Valuable Player.

Tigers vs Giants series is a mix of strengths, weaknesses and in-betweens but some predicts Detroit in seven. Check this page for Tigers vs Giants live blog below on score updates and highlights.

The San Francisco Giants look super so far in their first two games of the 2012 World Series. I predict either a sweep or they will win the series in five games.
