The French magazine ‘Closer’ has again been hauled up for breach of privacy – it had earlier published topless photos of Kate Middleton, its latest target is Valerie Trierweiler, the companion of Francois Hollande, the President of France.
‘Closer’ and another magazine ‘Voici’ have published bikini clad photos of Valerie – snapped when she was holidaying in summer in the Bregancon presidential retreat on a small island off the Mediterranean coast.
Both have been fined 1500 euros ($1898) and a 3rd magazine ‘Public’ which had also jumped into the fray was fined 1000 Euros.
This has been reported in theaustralian.com.au of dated 24th of October 2012.
Incidentally, Ms Trierweiler had sought 20,000 euros to 25,000 euros for breach of privacy but the judges gave her much less – the reason given was that bathing in a two piece swimsuit on the beach of the official presidential retreat meant that she was taking a risk of being photographed.
