It has become like a "blood sport" and we all participate in it. Political junkies, television, print, online citizen journalists, writers, bloggers, talk radio hosts and pundits, left and right, all add to the white noise surrounding this election. It is par for the course, and those of us who love it, can't seem to get enough of it.
Accusations fly, conservatives beat up on liberals and liberals knock them over the head just as hard. All is fair in love and war. But when the wife of the presidential nominee says she is concerned about his "mental state," should we all start to worry?
Ann Romney is seen in the above KTVN-TV video saying to the interviewer that she has every confidence in's abilities, except his mental health:
"My biggest concern obviously would just be, um, his mental well-being. I have all the confidence in the world in his abilities, in his, um, decisiveness, leadership skills, in his understanding of the economy, in his understanding of what's missing right now—in the economy, you know the pieces that are missing to get this jump-started. Um, so for me, it would be the emotional part."
To me, this is an extremely serious claim Mrs. Romney is making, and she is doing it publicly. Which brings up even more troubling questions. Is she indirectly asking for help here? Does she want someone to notice and intervene, see that her husband cannot handle the brutal stress of being president?
I have written several articles on something being off about the Republican nominee—call it intuition or amateur psychic abilities, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. Could it be this?
Why isn't this taken seriously by anyone? If the presidential nominee is mentally incapable of this massive responsibility, shouldn't he bow out gracefully? Yes, campaigning is brutal, but compared to running a country like the US, it is a walk in the park.
Does Ann Romney and those around Mitt Romney think that if he becomes president, the mental strain will ease, recede? On the contrary, I'm sure it increases. Do you see President Obama's full head of white hairs he acquired in under four years?
