"RuPaul's Drag Race" All Star Season Begins

RuPaul is back! This time it’s with an All Star cast of drag queens for “RuPaul’s Drag Race: the All Stars”. But this time around there’s a big twist…

…the queens will be competing in pairs and be eliminated in pairs; but only one will win the $100,000 prize.

The show was dedicated to fallen drag queen Sahara Davenport.

Nina Flowers

To pair the queens up the pit crew brought in boxes with photos of the queens, each was to choose one and when the pairs matched that was the team. The All Star season teams are…

The first challenge of the season is a high fashion photo shoot spread – Opposites Attract – with the queens applying each other’s makeup. The queens must shoot a half-baked scene – in mid transformation only partially made up and a wet and wild – and yes they will get rained on – high fashion shoot.

While the queens are working, RuPaul makes a visit to the lab to check on what the queens are doing how they plan to dress for their photo shoot.

Joining RuPaul at the judges table for the runway walk and photo shoot reveal are Michelle Visage, Santino Rice, Ross Matthews, and special guest judge Rachel Hunter.

The best looks for this week were Raven and Jujubee and Manilla and Latrice with Manilla and Latrice taking home the win.

The judges found little to be happy about on all four of the other teams. RuPaul saved Yara and Alexis and Tammie and Nina for another week leaving Pandora and Mimi and Chad Shannel in the bottom two.

Even though the queens are in teams and will be eliminated in teams, only one of the queens will be allowed to perform in the lip sync for their lives. This week Mimi and Chad game their lip sync performance to “Opposites Attract” by Paula Abdul.

This season there is an emergency button that the non performing team member may use but the button can be used by each team only once during the season.

After the performance RuPaul announced for Chad and Shannel to chantay you stay but Pandora and Mimi would sashay away.
