In an interview, actress and reality TV starhas revealed the horrid details of her recent complicated pregnancy. The mother-of-four admitted that although she gave her daughter a scare when she woke to find herself lying in a pool of blood, it was four-year-old Stella who rushed to her aid at the time.
A month after welcoming her fourth child – son Finn Davey – with husband Dean McDermott, Spelling opened up about her recent pregnancy scare. The actress explained that she nearly died after suffering a life-threatening condition called placenta previa and her eldest daughter saved her life.
The star was speaking at the launch of her new clothing line, LIttle Maven, for JC Penney. She was joined by Stella, one-year-old Hattie, five-year-old Liam and her husband, Dean McDermott.
Tori told People magazine that she had spent the night sleeping with Stella when woke up in a pool of blood and “stumbled to the bathroom, dizzy from losing so much blood.”
She continued, “When I got there, I thought, ‘This is it.’ 'There was so much blood I thought, ‘I’m dying. Not just [losing] the baby, but I’m dying.’”
The “Beverly Hills, 90210” star told the magazine that she called out for Stella, who came running, and asked the youngster to fetch Dean, who was sleeping in a separate room with Liam.
The actress went on, “I’ll never forget the look on her face when she saw me surrounded by blood everywhere. I didn’t want to panic her and I said, ‘Baby, will you go get Daddy? Just tell him I’m bleeding.’ Her eyes were as big as saucers and - this is going to make me cry - she looked like such a little toddler warrior. She said, ‘Okay, Mama’ and she ran.”
After the incident, Spelling was forced her to spend the final three months of her fourth pregnancy on bed rest at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. The reality star confessed that she feared she will lose her baby after doctors warned her they might need to deliver the baby prematurely.
However, the proud mom managed to stay strong and fight for her unborn baby. She said, “I was like, ‘I’m going to get this baby to a healthy point and we’re going to be a family.’ I would rub my belly and talk to [the baby]. I kept telling him, ‘We’re going to be fine’ and ‘I can’t wait to hold you.’”
Tori Spelling also revealed her fear that the ordeal may have scarred her daughter for life.
“She never forgets that. She says to me all the time, ‘Mama, do you remember that day when we woke up and you were bleeding?’ And I [say], ‘I do remember that day because you saved me.’ I hope it won’t stick with her in a scarring way.”
The blonde actress gave birth to a healthy baby boy, Finn, on August 30.
