Bergdorf Goodman celebrates its 111th with big bash!

Bergdorf Goodman held their 111th anniversary celebration at the Plaza Hotel on October 18, 2012 in New York City, bringing out quite a bevy of fashionistas, fashion industry professionals and A-listers...

Designer Lela Rose made quite an entrance in her black-strapped white dress with silver detailing and a long train, accessorizing with strappy metallic sandals. Zani Gugelmann, Nichole Galicia and Jay Manuel too wore silver in their ensembles…

Even the legendary Iris Apfel, who was attending with husband Carl, wore a silver colored fur and huge silver-toned baubles… Needless to say, the color of the evening was silver!

This is the first time since 1951 that Bergdorf Goodman has marked its birthday and the celebration will include launching an exclusive anniversary collection of more than 100 designers, as well as a documentary film and a book on the store.

Bergdorf Goodman windows will also feature a unique paper sculpture installation of twelve costumes by New York artists Mark Gagnon and Samantha Smith representing a history of fashion since 1901, when the store opened its atelier founded by master tailors Edwin Goodman and Herman Bergdorf.

Also attending the Bergdorf Goodman celebration rather stylishly were Alexandra Vidal (in a lovely cobalt blue strapless gown with marabou peplum and hem!), Thom Browne, Chelsea Leyland, Sara Gore, Lynn Yaeger, Bernard Cohen, Olivier Theyskens, Andrew Rosen, Hilary Rhoda, Norma Kamali, Olivia Chantecaille, Dori Cooperman, Dani Stahl Stefano Tonchi, Linda Fargo and Roberto Bolle.
