Game Four of the ALCS was postponed on Wednesday night due to threat of rain. It was actually dry and quite pleasant at the ballpark when the announcement was made. The game will be played Thursday afternoon in Detroit at 4pm EST. The scheduled starters are still C.C. Sabathia for the Yankees and Max Scherzer for the Tigers. The rainout could potemtially have larger ramifications for the Yankees. The thought is that if the Yankees were somehow able to extend the series to a game seven that they could bring back C.C. Sabathia to pitch a game seven on three days rest. The postponement pretty much erases Sabathia from any game seven equation. The Yankees have lots more than that to worry about. They have to find a way to put some men on base or they won't have to worry about a game five, never mind a game six or seven. Robinson Cano got his first hit of the series in the 9th inning of game three. Nick Swisher has looked terrible at the plate and Alex Rodriguez is 0-18 with 12 strikeouts against right handed pitching.
