Talk about coincidences… First lady and Ann Romney, the wife of presidential hopeful , both wore pink dresses – almost the identical shade and hue – to the Oct. 16 debate in Hempstead, New York.
The fully televised town hall style debate was held at Hofstra University, the second in a series of three presidential debates, where the candidates duke it out for who will be the next Pres for 2013.
Obama and Romney also fielded questions from the audience on a wide variety of issues and it’s up to interpretation who among the two was the “better man” and won the day.
However, the biggest question was who looked better in her pink outfit this evening?
The first lady, also affectionately known as “FLOTUS,” first lady of the United States, who is usually fond (or shall we say passionate!) of wearing purple, wore a lipstick pink knee-length dress, topped with a matching cropped bolero-style jacket with three-quarter length sleeves, teamed with black pointed-toe pumps.
First lady Michelle also wore pale pink lipstick and matching nail polish and accessorized with a string of pearls and pearl stud earrings.
Ann Romney wore a fitted knee-length lipstick pink sheath with a jewel neck and cap sleeves, perhaps made of raw silk (looks slightly textured!), which she accessorized with a two-strand blue glass bead necklace, which almost looked like sea glass, as well as several gold bangles on the right wrist and a chunky gold watch (a man’s watch apparently) over the left wrist. No earrings were sighted.
Mrs. Romney too wore pink lipstick but pale blue nail polish, which was spotted as she clapped in the audience. She apparently tried to temper all that pink with a bit of blue.
No doubt, the pink outfits on the ladies were in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
On a personal note, Mrs. Obama seemed to look slightly more polished with the matching jacket.
