KABUL, Oct. 15. -

Almost two suspected insurgents and three children were killed in a bombing of the forces of the NATO mission in Afghanistan (ISAF) registered in the south of the country, an official source in Afghanistan.

The bombing, which occurred in the southern province of Helmand, two suspected insurgents were also killed, according to local authorities The bombing took place on Sunday in the Nawa district of the restive southern Helmand province, said provincial police chief, Abdul Nabi Elham.

According to Elham, the bombing killedf two insurgents who were planting a mine, but also picked up three children in a nearby wood. Every year thousands of Afghan civilians killed in the conflict, mostly by actions of the Taliban, but deaths attributable to NATO forces have raised tensions with the Afghan authorities.

An ISAF spokesman, Adam Wojach, confirmed the bombing raised to three the number of dead insurgents, but could not provide details about the alleged death of children. "We are investigating the incident, and when we have any conclusions to inform the media," added Wojach.
