Malala Yousafzai transferred to UK for medical for medical treatment

The 14-year-old victim of Pakistani Taliban, Malala Yousafzai, was transferred to a health care facility in UK for continued and improved medical treatment

Malala Yousafzai raised her voice against the Taliban, while living in their stronghold city, and she became a victim of their wrath. Malala Yousafzai is a 14-year-old Pakistani girl, who lives in Swat and who got shot by the Taliban for trying to raise her voice against them.

Yousafzai was shot last Monday and she received life-threatening injuries as a bullet was lodged near her spine and one in her head. Initially Malala Yousafzai was treated at a local hospital in Swat but then she was transferred to Peshawar, which is a bigger city and has better hospitals. However, it seems that it will be a long time before Yousafzai will be fully recovered, and in order to completely rehabilitate her, better medical treatment is required. For this reason, it was decided that Malala Yousafzai should be transferred abroad and the country of choice was UK.

The British Foreign Secretary William Hague said that Malala Yousafzai would receive specialized care in a hospital in the country's National Health Service system.

"Last week's barbaric attack on Malala Yousafzai and her school friends shocked Pakistan and the world. Malala's bravery in standing up for the right of all young girls in Pakistan to an education is an example to us all,” Hague said in a statement.

It was confirmed by the Pakistani military officials that a plane carrying Malala Yousafzai had indeed left Pakistan for UK on early Monday morning. Even in the UK Malala Yousafzai will remain under protection since she is still a target for the Taliban.

A special panel comprising of Pakistani doctors and international experts for Malala Yousafzai have determined that she will require prolonged care to fully recover from the physical and psychological trauma. It was the same panel which determined that Malala Yousafzai should receive treatment abroad.

Before sending Malala Yousafzai abroad, her parent's wishes were also taken into consideration and their prior permission was sought.

Malala Yousafzai raised her voice against the tyranny of the Taliban and chronicled her life under their domain, via a blog which she used to maintain. Yousafzai openly spoke against the Taliban and even encouraged the girls of her community to obtain education. She was nominated for the Peace Prize award and won acclaim from her country as well. Today, the entire world is praying for her recovery.

I join the thousands around the world to pray for her recovery. I am sure that this young brave girl will be the torch bearer in the future for the emancipation of women in that part of the world.Hope the criminals who committed this crime will be defeated. As a Muslim I swear that these criminals do not represent Islam and I am sure that this girl's bravery will be an eye opener for some of the youths who for various other reasons fall into the traps laid by religious fanatics.

People are suffering from lack of government support. The rebels are taking advantage with the situation by abusing the innocent, only realizes that people need help when they were already victims from harassment.
