New Orleans Louisiana. New Orleans firefighters are called heroes for saving two children who were unconscious in a house that was on fire.
The New Orleans Fire Department answered an emergency call about 10pm Saturday night in the 3000 block of Americus Street in Algiers Louisiana.
A spokesman for the New Orleans Fire Department said two children ages six and eight year old were not breathing when the firefighters arrived at the burning house. The children were taken outside and revived with cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
The names of the two children were not released to the public. The two children is presently in a New Orleans area hospital. Their conditions are unknown at this time.
The spokesman said people at the burning home told the firefighters there may have been someone inside the burning home. The firefighters went inside and found one child unconscious in the bathroom and the other child unconscious in a bedroom closet.
The spokesman told WWLTV.com there are no reports of anyone else being injured. It is unknown if there was anybody else in the house with the childen at the time of the fire. The fire was contained to the kitchen and family room.
