Ignorance now in color: woman calls Obama Communist, doesn't know what it means (video)

Sometimes it seems like only the color has changed. Hate and ignorance has gone from the black and white grainy videos and photos of yesteryear to today's live and in living color. The chants of segregation and racism have been replaced with code words like "un-American," "Communist," "Socialist," "he is not one of us" and "he has a Kenyan colonial world view."

In the above video, a woman, clearly "an anti-Obama-ian," is screaming "Communist" outside Thursday's debate in Dansville, Kentucky. When MSNBC's Chris Matthews went over to ask her to explain what she meant by Obama is a Communist, the ignorance is overwhelmingly embarrassing-- for her.

She doesn't seem to know what the word meant but was simply regurgitating what she had picked up from one of the many right-winged hate-mongers spewing on radio and television daily.

She kept saying, "Study it out, all you have to do is study it out and you will see"--whatever that means. Adding, "You haven't done your homework buddy, he is a Communist and those of us who are not voting for him, know it."

When Matthews pressed her on what Communist meant, she answered, " You don't know, you dont know--I know what it means--study it out."

Matthews then asked her if the president was American, and she firmly replied, "Oh no--just because he was born here doesn't mean he is like us--he is a Communist."

Sadly, she is not an isolated case but represents an entire group of "birthers" and "anti-Obama" crowd out there who dislike the president for reasons they can't even articulate.

They cannot name one legitimate, rational thing they disagree with in policy so gravitate to the Communist, Socialist, Kenyan, Muslim confounded rhetoric.

"A mind is a terrible thing to waste" and contrary to the idiom, ignorance is certainly not bliss.

Veronica,

Looks like you are the ignorant one here. Obama had active participation with the communist groups since his return to the US. While in Indonesia he could be indoctrinated by communism as well, that ideology was well entrenched in South and South-East Asia at the time.

While you don't have to believe everything in this video, there are lots of truth in it.

Looks like you are in denial.

Number one, I am not a republican.
Number two, as I said you can question some of the points raised in the video, but, you can't deny what the pictures tell and many of the records in existence.

Questioning my character? Please look in the mirror and see how many spin marks there.

Not judging your character--I don't know you personally--judging what you said. Having a problem with the president's policy is one thing--but calling him a Communist when he bailed out big banks and Wall St without asking anything of them in return--is the height of irrational thinking. If that doesn't spell capitalism on steroids, I don't know what will.

Regardless of what some individual has to say. We can all rest assured that the role as President is not a one man’s Endeavour. Therefore, despite what the talk tat individuals have to say, it will be of no effect. Just keep doing what you have been called to do, and do not answer back to the like of Anyvoice, as it does not correspond to a proper name, thus, leaving them to amuse and entertain they own thoughts. We have not been placed on this earth for playing tit for tots, with such an ignorant type of people. Who as a result habitually seek to drag others down.

It is a well-known fact that they are many whites who have bad minds, impaired thoughts and ill wishes to extend towards blacks and other culture, even their own.

All those of us who shared our human's sentiments, however, must work together to expose them for holding such negative views of others.

It's easy to detect the ones that have lack of intelligence in Kentucky. If she was going to call him that, then at least know the meaning why. Now, her fifteen minutes of fame were used up in a way that shows the entire nation that she is a doofus. We're talking about Kentucky, a state that was dumb enough to elect Sen. Rand Paul.
