The first presidential debate in Denver is now history – the world is now looking to the VP nominees of both camps to show their mettle in the Norton Center for the Arts at Centre College, Danville, Ky., in the second important face-off between the ruling Democrats and the ambitious Republicans.
On the stage in the second debate will be veteran, the incumbent vice president, and the Republican nominee , the Wisconsin representative.
It will be another contest between youth and experience – Ryan is a greenhorn; Biden is a seasoned politician. Obviously, Biden will have some advantage, but will it be sufficient to rebuild the Obama campaign, which reveals a downward plunge in the popularity of President?
Once again the social networking media will become overactive, and everyone would be looking up to Biden and hope that he can repair the damages already inflicted by the opposition on the Obama comeback campaign.
This has been reported in cbsnews.com, dated Oct. 11, 2012.
While admitting that debates of the VPs do not influence the final decision of voters on who would become the president, the fact remains that this debate would give a chance for Ryan to build his confidence, help him to cement a place in his party and shore himself up as a future important individual in the Republican’s way of things.
For Biden, it would show if the 69-year old veteran could be looked upon as a probable Democrat contender for the 2016 president polls.
Controversy on VP debate moderator - The Commission on Presidential Debates has nominatedto be the moderator at the VP debate.
It seems Martha Raddatz and her former husband hosted President Barack Obama at their wedding more than 20 years ago, and there were fears that she might have a weakness for the Obama camp and that her presence might influence the debate.
Peter Eyre, an adviser to the non-partisan debate commission, has said that the organization is not worried that Obama was a guest at Raddatz's 1991 wedding – the fact is that Raddatz is a terrific journalist and will prove to be a terrific moderator, he said.
It seems there was a similar controversy during the2 008 Elections -of PBS had hosted the VP debate at the time and had come under fire when it was announced that she was writing a pro-Obama book, which was scheduled to be published after the election.
