On “The X Factor,” after two rounds of boot camp performances, bundles of nerves, and forgotten lyrics … it’s the last day of boot camp and all that remains is for the judges to name the acts that will go to the judge’s homes. The 60 singers must be pared down to 24 – six in four groups.

Last season the four categories included boys and girls, but this time around it will be teens, young adults, over-25s, and groups.

In the young adults catergory: Cece Frey, Willie Jones, Jennel Garcia, Nick Youngerman, Paige Thomas, and Jillian Jensen were selected.

In the over-25 category: Jason Brock, Daryl Black, David Correy, Tara Simon, Tate Stevens, and Vino Alan were selected for the next round.

Of the four groups, Sister C, Dope Crisis and Emblem3 were selected to move on, but One4Five was not. With only three groups chosen the judges will have to build the remaining three groups from singers who were not selected.

In the final group of teens: Beatrice Miller, James Tanner, Carly Rose Sonnernclair, Diamond White, Reed Demming, and Arin Ray were chosen to move on to the next round.

“The X Factor” producers will determine which judge will mentor what group. Britney will mentor the teens, Simon will mentor the groups, Demi will mentor the young adults, and an unhappy LA will be mentoring the over-25s – that was not the category he was hoping to get.

The groups traveled by boat to reach their mentor’s home. When Simon came out to meet the singers, they went crazy. Joining Simon as a guest mentor for this round is Latin music star Marc Anthony.

The young adults traveled to Los Angeles to meet their mentor Demi Lovato and her guest mentor, Nick Jonas.

The teens traveled to Malibu to meet with their mentor Britney and her guest mentor, Black Eyed Peas singer will.i.am.

The over-25 group traveled to Beverly Hills to meet with mentor LA Reid and his guest mentors, Justin Bieber and his manager Scooter. LA was open with his thoughts, telling the group that he was disappointed with his assignment but would do his best to make one of them a winner.

While six acts have traveled to the judge’s homes, only four of those acts will move on to the live shows.

All of the young adults performed for Demi and Nick, with Willie taking on the same song that he messed up on in boot camp. Before they sang, Demi had a one-to-one talk with each of the singers. After their performances, Demi noted that all of them were stars and she wasn’t sure who she would choose.

In Miami Beach, Simon and Marc Anthony listened as each of the groups, including those that were constructed only a few days before, performed. In talking with Marc after the performances, Simon said that there was only one really great group amongst them.

On Thursday, the over-25s and the teens will perform for their mentors before the decisions as to which acts would move on to the live shows.
