Sarah Jones: Cincinnati Bengals cheerleader allegedly sexed student

Former Cincinnati Bengals cheerleader Sarah Jones has pleaded guilty to having sex with a former student, who was only 17-year-old at the time of intercourse. Jones admitted this offense on Monday under a plea agreement and now she will be charged for custodial interference and sexual misconduct. These charges will allow her to avoid jail time.

According to a report by Zap2it, cheerleader-turned-teacher Sarah Jones admitted that she had sex with her student. The hearing took place at the Kenton County Circuit Court in Covington, Ky. Sarah confessed in front of the judges, saying, "I began a romantic relationship while he was a student and I was in a position of authority.”

This was a shocking revelation for her fans, who weren’t expecting such an offense from her. According to her plea agreement, she will face five years of diversion, which will require her to be subject to drug tests and report to a probation officer. All this will save her from actually going to jail and being registered as a sex offender.

According to Sarah Jones, she entered into a relationship with the 17-year-old boy last year in February. Besides having sex, they also shared explicit text messages. The text messages were quite embarrassing and steamy.

Jones met the boy in freshman English class in 2008. She was his peer tutor in 2010 and 2011. He graduated this year. Sarah Jones is not facing severe repercussions for this offense because the teenager’s family isn’t cooperating with the prosecutors. They aren’t sharing sufficient information because of which Jones is only going to serve her probation and not go to jail.

The prosecutor for the case, Sara Farmer, talked about the issue, saying, "We feel that it is a just and it is a fair result.” She further said, "It's certainly difficult when a victim and his family don't cooperate by not providing information, but it makes our case a lot harder when they're actually proactive for a defendant, and in this case, the family was more than supportive of the Jones (family). They were proactive for them." Jones’ trial will start from October 10, 2012.

Both Sarah Jones and her teenage lover are going to appear on "Today" and "Dateline" Friday.
