A 21-years-old from Davao, KZ Tandingan bagged P4 million when hailed as first ever "The X Factor Philippines" Sunday night held at the PAGCOR Grand Theater in Parañaque City.
Tandingan earned 54.77 percent of the total text and online votes. She bested Gabriel Maturan and male group Daddy's home with 32.33 and 12.90 percent, respectively.
"The X Factor Philippines" KZ Tandingan almost lost her voice due to polyps back in high school. While competing she always thanked God and part of her winnings will be use to repair a church in her hometown.
Charice Pempengco, KZ's mentor thanks their supporters. Her student proved that talent competition are not just for "“biriteras” or belters.
KZ Tandingan version of "Superstar" by The Carpenters, which she sang during the final performances joined by audience on some part of her song.
Second placer Maturan took home P100,000, while third placer Daddy’s Home received P50,000.
The “X Factor” judges and mentors Martin Nievera,, and Charice also took the stage.
