Niall Horan, from pop superstar boy band, One Direction, has been injured after he was attacked by, wait for it, a squirrel, in London's Battersea Park. The attack resulted in the young singer having an operation to mend torn ligaments in his knee.
Speaking on London's Capital FM he said: “I've torn most of the ligaments in my knee. So no football for me. It's early retirement now. I've got a floating knee-cap!”
One Direction fans will be hoping that the 'early retirement' comment was a joke. Judging by his appearance with the rest of the lads on the X Factor live show in London last night he's well on the way to recovery!
The boy band sensation brought the house down when they were introduced to the X Factor live audience by presenter Dermot O'Leary. The band are living testament to the power of appearing in the X Factor finals as they are currently the biggest band in the world.
Squirrel attacks are rare but not unheard of. A quick search of the internet brings up the true horror of what these cuddly little rodents are capable of. In 2005 a mad squirrel entered a German woman's home through an open window and sank its sharp rodent teeth into her. It then fled the room biting a builder and a 72-year-old man.
The squirrel that attacked One Direction's Niall Horan was luckier than the German squirrel as it got away back into the calm of London's Battersea Park. The German squirrel was killed by the pensioner that it bit who smashed its skull in with his crutch! Our boy Niall would never do that would he? Well he might but he wasn't in possession of crutches until after he was attacked.
