One Direction's Liam Payne has confirmed he has the hots for. The teen heartthrob revealed his true feelings live on air as he joined Radio 1 DJ Gemma Cairney for a show in honor of the Radio 1 Teen Awards on Saturday morning. However, he insisted he’s not dating the former “X Factor” champ.
It was reported last week that Payne had hooked up with Leona Lewis following his recent split from dancer Danielle Peazer. The couple had been reportedly seen together on two dates. Now the 19-year-old has confessed he has a crush on 27-year-old Lewis, but insisted he’s not dating her.
As Gemma probed Payne on the rumored romance between the two stars, the pop sensation replied, “I do have a crush on Leona, she's hot!” according to a report by the Daily Mail.
He went on, “I have met her. She's hot. I haven't eaten dinner with her though.” However, he put an end to speculation he was dating the “Bleeding Love” singer, quickly adding, “I'd like to highlight the fact I'm single. I am single!”
Liam Payne is single after breaking up with his dancer girlfriend, Danielle, last month after a relationship of two years. Lewis is also believed to be single, after calling time on her two-year relationship with German dancer Dennis Jauch.
The “Live While We're Young” singer showed off his DJ skills after co-presenting the Radio One show with Gemma Cairney.
An inside source spilled to The Sunday Mirror, “As soon as the chance came to ask her out he grabbed it – and they really enjoyed their dates together. Although they were in London they managed to stay out of the lime-light and are really into each other.”
Payne also addressed his new shorter hair cut that hit the headlines recently. The teen idol assured fans that his shaved head had nothing to do with his recent heartbreak, adding that it saves him time each morning.
He said, “I was doing a photo shoot for a certain magazine, and they said, 'What can we do with your hair?’ And I was like, ‘Shave it off.’ We went shorter, and shorter, and this is it. I have naturally quite curly hair, so I had to straighten it every morning with a hairdryer.”
Liam Payne added, “My mum was worried about me. She thought I'd got some clippers and done it myself.”
